I Make Money Online When… I have someone who loves me enough to kick my butt

This is my “I make money online when” this time. Through going to Nitro events as a student, and then as volunteer staff, I’ve made some incredible friends. And they’ll kick my butt good when needed.

Andrea – a life coach and incredibly gentle but sharp businesswoman.
Laura – a gutsy single mom who’s just earned her MBA and is going places.
Linda – a banker who’s got the kind of heart that makes people feel safe being open.
Marion – an EFT practitioner who’s got a God-given talent for seeing where people are stuck and helping them move (and my accountability partner).
Wendy – a professor and dancer with a heart for service and hospitality.

These are my “Power Women World Domination Society” (it’s kind of an inside joke) mastermind group.

Each Wednesday night at 8 EST, we’re all on our conference line going through a list of accountability questions about our online businesses. What did we do? Where are we stuck? What can the group help with to move us forward? How are we celebrating our wins?

And then there’s my Mastermind from Samurai Camp – Chad and Jackie. We’re on the phone every Thursday morning at 9 EST (6 a.m. for them!) praying together, supporting each other as we stand in our God-given purpose in service to others.

I love these people – and know they love me.

If I’ve learned one thing during the past few years – between attending personal development seminars with Klemmer & Associates and internet training seminars with Nitro Marketing (which is a lot like K&A with computers! and now I’ve got several friends from K&A who are learning how to get their message out to the world by using the internet – and they’re coming to Nitro events!) – it’s this:

Life and business are a LOT sweeter when I surround myself with people who love me enough to tell the truth.

The friends I’ve made in these places are largely responsible for me being here on this blog, sharing what I’ve learned. They remind me that my message can (and has) changed lives. They push me off the fence when I get stuck in perfectionism or analysis paralysis. They root for me to succeed. They remind me to rest. They are absolutely precious to me.

It wasn’t always this way. For years, I’d been the Lone Ranger. I chose this business in part because it meant I could work from home, for clients I’d rarely speak with and probably never see. I prided myself on being sort of “flat lined” emotionally – and barely able to remember the last tears I’d shed.

For people who’ve only known me for the past few years, they’re probably cracking up. If there are tears flowing, they’re probably mine first (or maybe Linda’s : ) ).

And if I’m sitting around pouting, spinning my wheels, or frozen in indecision – you’d better believe these people will knock some sense into me! And I’ll do the same for them.

See, on our own, it’s easy to take ourselves out of the game rather than push through to success. It takes a real friend to tell you what’s really going to support you in moving forward rather than diving into the pity party with you.

Do you have people like this in your life? Do you want some? This is another reason I love going to Nitro events – I meet more people like this each time, and I see the students connect with people like this, too. Come join us in Orlando next month – you might not leave “just” with an online business; you might also leave with friends you’ll keep for life.

I think there are a few of my buddy passes still available – but not many. Check it out here.
