I’m thankful to be a freelance writer – how about you?

This year, I started keeping a “Gratitude Journal” – and it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done. If you’re like most, this year has been… a challenge. But I’d bet lots of great things have also shown up in your life as well.
One thing I’m especially grateful for is the way my writing business has gone this year. It’s been a year with some ups and downs, and one where I’ve worked a “bit” more than I’d like to – but I’m so grateful for great clients, regular work, a wonderful team of writing partners, the excellent help of a virtual assistant, and especially – all the benefits of working from home doing something I love.
Care to share what YOU’RE thankful for this year?

I’m thankful for my husband of 28 years, our two sons and a 3-yr-old granddaughter. Most especially, I am thankful for my therapy cocker spaniel who watches over me when I’m alone all day. Without the encouragement of all these precious people and pooch, I would never be able to freelance at all. I am grateful that I can use my brain in such a productive activity as writing.
This economy dictates that it takes two incomes to support a household. The upside is that we are living a much simpler life, spending more time at home and realizing that some of the frivolities of life are just distractions that detract from the quality of living.

Thanks, Julie! I love hearing what people are thankful for because it helps me crystallize my gratitude, too! You and the pup are going to make a fine team : ) My dogs are the perfect companions as I write… the cat’s not a fan though.
