Dear
At-Home Opportunity
Seeker,
If you’re like
most people I know, you’re feeling
some serious
pressure.
Money’s
tight...
Your job
(or your spouse's job) is in
danger...
The bills are
piling up...
The kids need
new shoes or braces, or they’ve got a field trip coming
up at school…
You’ve looked
online, trying to find a way you can earn money from
home. And you found what I
found:
Mystery
shopping
Stuffing
envelopes
Taking
surveys
MLM business
opportunities
None of them
really sound great – and they all seem to promise you’ll
get rich quick, which kind of goes against everything
you’ve ever thought about money. And maybe you’ve even
got a friend or two who tried something like this, so you
know it’s never quite like it
sounds.
But
the bills are still coming in, and you’re starting to wake up
worried every morning. You’re hoping maybe you can find
something else you could do… just until things
improve.
I know how you
feel – I’ve been exactly there.
That’s why I
want to share what’s working for me…
and hundreds of people who’ve used my
system to earn a full-time income – finally using
the skill that came "factory installed" in them...
writing.
How would making a few thousand dollars or
more every month affect your household
budget?
The question
is, will you spend just
a few minutes to read about what’s working for me? I
know it’s hard. (Hey, I’m a mom! It can be hard enough to have
two minutes to grab a shower, much less to read.) But if you’re
really serious about finding something that’ll help
you make money from home, it’s worth taking a few minutes
to read all
the way to the end.
Using
this “secret” system, I’ve generated $4973 or more every month
for the past few years. Right from home. In my blue recliner, to be
exact. I DON’T throw parties. I DON’T chase my friends or
family to buy stuff. It’s actually worked so well for me that I
started telling a few of my friends – and some of them are
doing it too now.
Here’s what
just one of my friends has to
say:
|
Hi, I'm Michelle Preston-Strout,
the owner of Web Friendly Writers. Sue LaPointe is
almost as responsible for the success of my writing
business as I am. The specific steps in her book
that made her a successful business owner in less
than a year truly inspired and enabled me to get my
own writing business off the ground.

So
what kind of writing are we talking about
here?
Well, it’s
definitely NOT the kind of writing I always pictured
writers doing – like novels, screenplays, or magazine
articles.
Those are the
kinds of writing that you usually picture some starving
writer doing at Starbucks, hoping to write a blockbuster
that gets on Oprah’s book list. You could easily spend
years of your life writing, and end up penniless – not
exactly what’s going to help you support your
family.
Freelance commercial writing is
different. Instead of writing “on spec” (that’s where you
write, then hope someone will buy what you wrote… and you
can count on rejection after rejection in the process),
you write what your clients request. That means you
actually get paid!
This kind of
writing is what you read on websites, in articles when
you do a search on some topic you’re interested in, on
brochures, even in catalogs.
For example, I’ve got a
client who sells promotional products online (you know, like
the pens or coffee mugs you get as a gift from your bank).
He can’t write worth a lick, so he hires me to write 10
articles a month that he can use to promote his business.
We’ve been working together for a couple of years now, and
in that time, he’s paid me more than $6,547 to write about
how great his golf umbrellas and engraved pencils are! Each
article takes me about 15 minutes to write,
which puts
my hourly rate at about
$100!
Here’s what
happens. Each and every month, dozens of people pay me to
write little 500 word articles for them – that’s about a
single page. I’ve written on every topic from
breastfeeding to bodybuilding, but I’m not really an
expert in anything. I’m not a journalist, not an English
major, not an advertising exec – just a mom with a
computer who enjoys reading and writing. I also happen to
have been ranked #1 on Guru.com (just one place where you
can find people who’ll pay you to
write).
That's me -
Triumph Communications. So, how did I get started?
How did I find all these people who line up every
month to pay me to write for
them?
Well, looking
back, it’s kind of funny now. I almost passed on the idea
of becoming a freelance commercial writer. I’d looked
into becoming a book indexer (yeah, someone actually
creates those indexes in the back of books) but got
advice that said I should make cold calls to publishers.
So, 400 index cards, about a dozen hours in the library,
and 43 sweaty-palmed cold calls later…
nothing.
Then I
stumbled onto my first writing gig… 500 word articles
about mortgages… for $2 each.
That’s worse than burger-flipping
money!
There HAD to be a better
way.
But everywhere
I looked online, the information was the same: make cold
calls to advertising agencies and publishers… or
“reconnect with former colleagues to schedule a meeting
to offer your copywriting services…”
Huh?
Look, I’m a
mom. I’m really, really not interested in going to
meetings. I don’t own a briefcase. Hey, to be honest, I
live in South Florida and my usual "uniform" is
flip-flops and shorts.
If this was
going to work, I needed a way to find writing
clients online.
The other
challenge was this: I had NO portfolio. NO samples. And
didn’t have a clue how to get
any.
Oh yeah, and
if I managed to land a writing gig, what would I charge?
And how would I know I’d actually get
paid?
These were
some pretty big hurdles.
But here’s
what I did have: $5,000. (It was kind of a fluke.) And I
had this book, Loral Langemeier’s “The Millionaire Maker”
- (yup, she's the money expert on Dr.
Phil).

It talked
about how you could use your existing skills
to make a profitable business. At the end, she
made an offer that you could hire a coach to help you
build your own business – a cash machine, she called
it.
So I did
it.
For the next
six months, I learned how to build a thriving writing
business from nothing. My coach Robin taught
me:
-
How to find paid
writing gigs… real money - not $1 an
article! And if you do well, these clients
will come back month after month asking for
more.
-
Learn how to set
(and get!) your fees like you've
been doing this for
years.
-
Discover
how to connect with these two professionals,
and fill your calendar with some of
the most interesting, well-paying writing
projects you can imagine… and as
another plus, you’ll be helping scores of
people succeed in their businesses – a great
feeling.
-
How to
find local clients in your
community who will hire you to write for
them.
-
Uncover
the secrets of getting paid – every
time.
-
Learn
how to generate passive income as a
writer. Write it once, get paid over
and over (and no, it's not by collecting
royalties).
-
How to master the 7 most common
challenges freelance writers face in taking on new
projects.
-
Learn about a few people who can
save you tons of time, money, and
headaches and make your writing business
exponentially more
profitable.
-
6 easy ways to boost your writing income.
Just add a couple of these to your bag of tricks and
you could easily hit the $200-$300 an hour
range!
It
was definitely worth
the $5,000 coaching fee, because
within 6 months, I was making nearly $5,000 a
month!
But I’m
guessing you don’t happen to have $5,000 laying around the
house. Like I said, it was a fluke I was able to scrape up the
money for coaching. But paying that much did one thing for sure:
it made me 100% committed to make it
work.
See, my
husband was a pastor, and I knew we were going to need
some kind of miracle to get our kids to college, or to
ever hope of being able to retire or even travel to see
family. And because his salary wasn’t keeping pace with
our expenses, I needed something that was going to work
for sure.
So, I dove in
and got to work. I did whatever my coach Robin told me to
do. It started working! But know what Robin's best advice
was to me?
“Sue, write
everything down!”
I did! And now
I’ve developed a complete, simple to follow

Here’s
a quick look at just some of what you'll
learn:
-
The books you’ll
definitely want to get your hands on as

cultivate the mindset that will help you succeed.
(Note: Don’t wait to get started until after you’ve
read them – this mental training is an ongoing
effort! These books helped me a lot.
-
The three things you MUST
do before you start your business. HINT:
They don’t involve getting a website, making cold
calls, or anything else painful!)
-
How to build a portfolio…
even without having a single client. This
may be the single biggest stumbling block many
freelance writers face – kind of a chicken and an
egg puzzle; but you’ll cruise right through and may
even amaze yourself with what you come up
with.
-
An
easy and free way to protect your work from being
“borrowed” – this will put your mind at
ease as you publicize your writing
samples.
-
How you cut the time
until pay day in half – just by setting
THIS up from the start.
-
How to set yourself apart from
the crowd with one of the biggest sources
of paid writing gigs anywhere.
-
L
earn an easy way to get
more work from clients you really like – and who
pay well… and to become sought after by
other prospective clients in their
networks.
-
While you’ll never need to make a
single phone call to find work, you do need to
realize you’re in sales. (SECRET: Everyone is! Even
if you’re just trying to get your toddler to eat
lima beans… it’s a sales job.) Here’s what you need
to feel completely comfortable promoting
yourself and your new business.
-
How to find a profitable niche as
a writer – and build a reputation that makes
clients line up to get on your
schedule.
-
Learn how to set your
prices right. This is probably the second
biggest hurdle freelance writers face – but it’ll
be a piece of cake for you!
-
And much, much
more!
Alright, I can totally hear
you...
What’s it
cost?
Here's the
thing.
There’s
a recession going on. (duh!) And I know you’re hurting, or
you wouldn’t be here… and you certainly wouldn’t have read clear

|
|
|
|
|
Here's the
thing - six months are going to pass by whether you
get started
now or not. At the end of that time, you
could have a flourishing business that allows you
to:
-
Spend more time doing what you want
to - with the people you love.
Compare that to commuting to a job you hate,
worrying about whether you’re next in line when
layoffs come.
-
Write from
anywhere in the world - as long as
you've got internet service, you're in business.
Forget about groveling before your boss, begging
for a day off.
- Set your own
hours. Watch your kids’ faces light up (or
grimace!) when you tell them you’ll be chaperoning
their next field trip because now you’re the
boss.
- Charge top dollar for
your services. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out
that you can earn more and work less
by raising your rates - and if you do it right, your
clients will thank you.
- Give your budget some wiggle room. This
is a nearly no overhead business - and
one that shows no signs of slowing down. Because you’re
not limited to your local economy, you’re not bound by
what’s going on near you. Recession? Ha! Not in this
business.
